Ranbir Kapoor recalled his father Rishi Kapoor's opposition to Brahmastra and his constant questioning of Ayan Mukerji's actions.

On Wednesday, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, together with Ayan Mukerji, debuted the motion poster for Brahmastra in Delhi. Ranbir said at the occasion that Ayan pitched the idea for the film to him while the two were filming the final session of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

"I recall on the last schedule of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, this brilliant friend of mine (Ayan Mukerji) told just the fundamental idea of a young man born with a big power that he doesn't fully comprehend." "The power of fire," Ranbir remarked, adding that the process of making and releasing the film has been "a lot of hard work, sacrifices, and agony" since then.

However, the years of waiting and hard labour taught Ranbir a valuable lesson. "It taught me something very important: we must maintain our faith." Because, despite all the suffering, there is something excellent in hard labour and sacrifice. He addressed the audience and stated, "This is f****g good."

As the night progressed, Ranbir spoke about his late father, actor Rishi Kapoor, and how he was opposed to Brahmastra and questioned Ayan and Ranbir's motives.

"Today, I miss my father badly," Ranbir remarked, adding that Rishi Kapoor had warned him that no one would watch a VFX film. "I recall him battling with Ayan and me throughout the filming of the movie and asking, 'What are you doing?'" Who knows why it takes so long to make a movie. Who is it that spends so much money? You're not going to make any money on this movie. Kaun dekhega is a VFX film. "No one is going to watch it," Ranbir recalled.

"I hope he's pleased with himself." Ranbir added, "He's smiling," and then went on to recite his father's famous dialogue from Karz as a tribute. "Just to pay him a compliment - 'Kya tumne kabhi kisi se pyaar kiya?' Kisiko dil diya kabhi kisiko dil diya kabhi kisiko d 'Maine bhi diya,' says the narrator. After completing his monologue, he introduced Alia Bhatt as his "dil and pyar" on stage. Alia stepped on stage, overcome with emotion, and revealed how moved she was by Ranbir's father's speech.

"I'm a little emotional right now because of what you said," Alia told Ranbir, who congratulated her in Hindi on how beautiful she looked. "Tu itni hot lagri hai kuch ho raha hai mujhko," he continued, eliciting cheers from the audience.

Alia and Ranbir's first film together is Brahmastra. The two have been dating for quite some time. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, will be released on September 9, 2022.
